what do you guys reccomend for exhaust size on a SD33? only running 5psi boost, 2.5 inch or 3 inch?

2.5" will do if you plan to leave boost standard, but if you have any plans to turn up the boost I'd be going 3".
Mandrell bent is better than press bent.

yes i will buy the bends and make it up myself as mandrel bends dont squash the pipe. i thought 2.5" for 5 psi, thanks Tony for the confirmation

just as a foot note; when asking about info about your engine, state SD33T as this denotes the turbo engine.

thats a gimme considering i said it was running 5 psi, its not original SD33T, its an original SD33 with an aftermarket turbo, but yes next time i will be more clear

OK forgive me and forget what I said! It is a SD33 with turbo fitted. different internals than SD33T. Sorry BigArch.

Nah I'm the one in the wrong here this time Mate, I assumed you were running a true SD33T not a SD33 with turbo fitted. They are different so you just keep stating SD33 with turbo as it correct. As they are different internally, anyone helping you needs to know which motor you have. And if you say you have an SD33T you are saying you have more rings than you do etc.

the smaller you go the better the backpressure and the more torque you produce too much back pressure and everything goes downhill though to give u an idea im running a extracted 2.5 inch single system on a worked 308 and works fantastic

True with a na petrol engine but the same doesn't apply with a turbo diesel engine.
