Here's the gumtree ad - apologies if this is you, but it's too $hitty to pay $350 for IMO.

Honestly no way mate, you can get a new roofrack off Fleebay for about $400 these days.. Maybe offer him $50 and you might consider it as a cheap rack you could fix up hahaha

Yeah - pretty much what I thought. I thought I'd offer him $80-100 even and get an angle grinder onto it. Thanks heaps for the quick responses fellas. You rock.

$80 would be an ok price mate...Looks pretty similar to my mess of a roof rack too.

I offered him $50 and got a pretty quick reply of no. Like most of us, i'm into function, not form, so don't care less what it looks like. Maybe i'll ask him for $hits and giggles how low he'd go.

Don't pay more then a $100 though mate. If you can hold on for a month or so then something better will turn up for sure!

Tell him his dreaming if he wants more then 100....lol

No way in hell would I. I'm more in need of something on the front that will take a winch at the moment anyway. Just noticed it and thought it would be worth it if it was cheap. A winch is very high on my list of priorities.

You know what finly? You're absolutely right! Didn't even notice that! He just wrote back and basically said he's trying to get as much as possible so he can get one for his GU, so will reweld this one if he doesn't make enough. He then said he's heading off bush tomorrow. I said 'we will leave it at that then - enjoy'. I think he will be busting out the welder..
