This topic is self explanatory, what we all like to do and can be done very well while camping, fishing, picnics, beer with mates etc...

Monthly Photo Competition guidelines (Please read)

* Each month a new competition thread will commence & all forum members are invited to submit their photos .

* Maximum of three entries per person. (6 for Dec/Jan Photo Comp)

* Multiple entries should be made in separate posts

* Each entry should consist of a single photograph & a short description only

* Comments pertinent to entries are encouraged, but please do not use this thread to engage in banter

* Photos MUST have been taken by the member posting the photos or members of their party.

* Any photo which has been a winner will not be eligible for re-entry in any future competition.

* Please do not post photos that are not entries in the competition.

* Please do not re-post other folks entries within the thread

* The winner of the month's competition gets to choose the following month's competition topic.

* All members are encouraged to vote for the photos they think should win. This will be done by pressing the 'Thanks' button located underneath each post. Toward the end of the month the date & time of competition closure will be announced. Following this time the thread will be locked & the 'Thanks' counted to determine the winner.

* 'Thanks' may be added or withdrawn at any time during the month up until the competition is closed.

Didn't even know you could stay on Gabo Island!Yeah there's accommodation at the old lighthouse quarters. Pretty cool spot about 15000 pairs of little penguins, nesting shearwaters, big seal colony plus had whales cruising past pretty close when we were there. .

Me and my bro (on left) relaxing on the boat on the Cobourg Peninsula. As far north of the NT one can get. Best holiday I have ever had in my life. Well second best. The Best was the first time I went up there. Lol. I could easily live a nomadic life in total solitary up there.

Yeap, please keep it going. We need something to keep our minds on other things in these tough times.

'So good to sit down after a hectic & unsettled few days'.

After getting kicked out of our house sit prematurely 'cos of Covid 19, & having nowhere to go, & Cape York plans being cancelled, we managed to score a farm sit at short notice for as long as we want it, about 40kms west of Mareeba on the road out to Chillagoe, Qld. Here I am at the end of our first day here! 'Home' for the 'duration'. Not much required of us other than to live here, cut a bit of grass when it needs it & water a few fruit trees. Have the use of another Hilux if we want it too. Sitting watching a few roos, a Dollarbird & a couple of Kookaburras as I type this. This is the quietest place I've ever been.
