Hi and welcome. What year is your vehicle? is it a Y60 by any chance? What are you trying to 'de-code' on the VIN? Where are you located?

The 260 series was a facelifted version of the Spanish-built 160 (easily spotted by the rectangular headlamps) sold in Europe and available in SWB and LWB with L28, SD33, RD28 and RD28T engines. The SD-engined version, at least in the UK market, had a 24-volt electrical system. Nissan helped Nissan Ibérica amortize plant investments. The 260 Patrol later received a facelift with a new grille similar to that of the Y60 series which succeeded this generation elsewhere. Spanish production continued until 1994 for export and until 2002 for the Spanish domestic market.

I would suggest the Manuals on here for the MQ/MK Patrol and the RD28T engine supplement would be the best, failing that an MQ manual for wiring etc and a GQ with the 2.8T engine should at least cover the mechanicals etc

ET, thanks for that, didn't even consider Wiki to be honest. Sounds like the 260 is a bit of a hybrid to some degree from some solid platforms.

Hi Guys
I recently tried to order some parts online and gave them my vin number JN1TCSY61A0365889 and Engine number TD42509988T as suggested to make sure i got the right parts
for my 2006 TD42Ti, only to be told that was not a TB42Ti but a TD42 as TD42Ti engines finish with an A rather than a T, so contrary to that bit of information i must be imaginings the inter cooler sitting on top and the bonnet scoop must be a bug collector.
So i thought i would have a look only to find out my vin number is incorrect and found nothing so as things were going from bad to worse i gave up as it getting late and went to bed. So i understand how you feel trying to find out what model your is.
Originally i was trying to find Nissan part numbers but i believe that will end up in to hard basket along with vin numbers.
