View Full Version : 2006 GUIV Tail Light Wiring - wot's this plug?

Following in the foot steps of many others - I'm looking at getting rid of my "fake" tail lights and putting in some that work. I started digging around to find the extra wiring that allows them to be connected up. The photo below shows (passenger side) -


1. wiring for the existing reverse light (white plug - foreground)
2. what I assume is the extra wiring that will plug straight into the replacement tail light unit being sold on ebay (black plug)
3. an additional white plug wrapped in blue electrical tape (background)

Does anyone know what the additional white plug taped to the existing wiring would have been for? :confused:

I couldn't locate any "excess" wiring on the drivers side, so it looks like I'll be breaking into all the wiring on the passenger side for this :(.

I can't say for sure but it could be the plug used for plug in trailer wiring harnesses.
