Hi,

My vehicle is a 2006 GU series 4 ST with the "famous" ZD30 and Manual. I bought the vehicle new and slowly built it up to today standard. The wanted list is still very long....

Anyway enjoy.

Suspension:
 Dobinson 4" spring (painted black)
 6" tough dog adjustable (painted white)
 Ironman Adj Panhard
 TD extended breakline
Front: I have superior draglink and EFS extreme damper. Superior Drop box and standard height super flex arm complete the package. It also has home made bumper stop using crusier front bumper stop.
Rear: extended bumper stop using R50 pathy one. It also has drop out cone and coil retainer as the spring will fall out if left unsecured.

G,day mate,

Can you tell me about these?? were they a straight bolt up? did they come as 1 piece and the rubber was mounted to the curve plate to bolt up like that??

If so that is very very tidy, i am going to get some of them.....What was the increase length of the bump stops using them mate?

Cheers MR

The pathy bump stop is a one piece with the rubber attached to the metal part, the metal part is not curve thou but should not be a problem at all. The 2 holes almost aligned, just need to use a round file to elongate it a bit. There is enough metal for the elongation.

It provides about 1.5-2 inch extension, they are soft and progressive. I paid $50 for both from wracker.

I have a query and its not to be critical. But dont extended bump stops limit the amount of articulation something i anyway want more of. or is it stopping your wheels from scrubbing out on the inner arch. which in my case being a toy i woulkd belt cr@p outa the inner guard to get more clearance??

I have a great solution for you growlers. Raise it higher. Is only a toy

Preventing the big wheel scrapping the inner guard is one of the reason to extend the bump stop. The other reason is if you have a long shock (for more downward travel) and you don't extend the bump stop, your shock will bottom out and get damaged.

A better solution is to relocte the upper shock mount, but not a easy job for wagon, ute would be easier but still not a small job.

In perfect world a shock should be rest on it mid travel and have equal up and down travel and not scrapping anywhere and the bump stop provide protection against damage, but not many truck will achieve that.

You'll have to cut it up for more clearance Dave!

Looking great

hey mate just having another look at this pic and you ned to have a look at the base plate for the bump stop mounted to the diff. the back of it is hitting your shock and there is a mark on it, When you give it a real flex up you will wreck both of your rear shocks mate

check out my build thread for the solution mate,

Thanks man.

I have, since the photo, taken another 5-10 mm off the strike plate, should be good for now.

When I have the coins, I will go for a set of ajustable upper to rotate the diff. I have just save up for the Lower arm (more important for the time being), I wanted to use longer lower one (+5mm) to minimise the bowing of the spring, but both superior and suspension stuff advised otherwise (ie stay standard) as the tyre may foul the rear mud flat.

Yep thats the way, i agree with the advice you have got there mate, standard length lowers and adjustable uppers is the way to go for sure.

Good on ya.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I live in Darch NOR.

Since the last post, I have added dawes valve and set it at 15 psi max. Am playing with the spool rate, pretty amazing on how the engine react. The EGT seems to drop a bit too as the boost is higher when crusing (about 10-12psi) compared to ECU controlled 6-8 psi. On freeway, 100 kmh, I have less than 250 deg C..... Pretty happy with it.
