I am looking at buying an oven in the near future, considering one of these. Who has experience with either? Road Chef and Marine Oven Buddy, similar cost, size but interesting addition of door clasp on Road Chef.

The road chef is a direct Chinese copy of the Travel Buddy oven which are made in Bendigo.
When there is no price advantage then what is the point of a Chinese copy?

Another vote for the Travel Buddy. Make sure you run good sized cables and use Anderson plugs rather than rely on the cigarette lighter socket.

MEGOMONSTER had a great unit that he used on a trip to Tallarook. Which reminds me I still owe him for a couple of sausage rolls or pies.

Inlet manifold for sure, saw the results of a guy who didn't watch properly and he put his on the exhaust manifold - beautiful char lunch and smoke galore - funny as hell at the time, could have caught fire. @MB, with the number of nuts and bolts I have 'stored' in that damn valley I reckon lunch would come out mangled! Also, have to change the accelerator cable to a linkage setup and it moves around under the manifolds, so guess I will stick with the oven.

PeeBee I’m shocked to find out that thing of yours doesn’t have an oven fitted in it somewhere already - actually I expected it to have a gourmet kitchen in it to be honest

I have been trying to decide between the oven or a microwave oven. Both are avail around the same size and I have the power to run the microwave. Actually I did have a microwave to put into the truck. The small unit we had in the kitchen at home stopped working, so out we went an d bought a new one. I decided to open it up for a look and found it had simply blown the 'slow blow' microwave fuse, so for $6 I had it going again. trouble was, I started gloating to the other half about now having a MW oven for the truck, and she pushed back, demanded it back and then returned the one we just bought - damn, tactical error 101- learnt a lesson there.

Anyway, its still a space issue but I am sure I can find a spot to mount it.

Bought the marine oven and the pair of SS pans to go with it. Vendor showed they had 5 in stock. Got a message today saying they had sold out and were waiting on a back order. Hate BS. Not in a hurry but annoyed with the deception.

Yeah, vendor gone into silent running mode, waiting to get a response. I am not in a hurry as won't be out and about for quite a while.

I've had a Travel Buddy for years, probably one of the best things I've ever bought for the 4wd. Can't beat the smell of a couple of Butter Chicken pies wafting through the 4wd on a winter's day.

PeeBee

I've had the Travel Buddy Marine Oven for years and love it.

It's permanently set up on a shelf in the back of my pod. I put food in it and it re-heats whilst we are driving.

I had to put ventilation in the pod as it kept steaming the place up. By steaming I mean condensation.
