Installing DBA slotted rear rotors on GU wag.
Changing out rotors/pads F/R. On rear rotor there is of course the wheel stud holes and hub hole, plus 2 x say 4mm threaded thru holes to assist removal of rotor from axle. And the one in question, the 12 mm (approx) plane thru hole on a slightly larger PCD than wheel studs holes (same as stock).

Question: Is this 12mm hole in rotor to align up with the single blind hole in axle end face for alignment purposes or opposite for balance?

Should have observed where the position of the genuine rotors were before removal.

Wouldn't think it will matter. I've never worried about it. But if your concerned about balance, put it opposite I reckon.

Yeh, this is what I was thinking (to go opposite), cannot see the purpose of it actually, cannot be useful to aid the rotor removal as you would only drive the axle into the diff. Either used for alignment reference or anti vibration to reduce noise of rotor.

Did note that some other vehicle builds do use this hole for hand brake adjustment(when fitted). Guess for ease of manufacture they produce a universal rotor build for use across various vehicle types. Position would not matter in this case as log as the threaded holes (rotor removal assist) did not align up with the blind hole in axle end face.

All F/R assembled back together and all brakes working well.
