I have made a simple standalone diagnostic plug which when plugged into the 16-pin OBD port will cause the dash to flash the Engine light and read out the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).
Nothing special, but a convenient and easy way to extract the fault codes.

This will only show error codes for the ZD30 DI 3.0L (pre-CRD only) engines built between 2000/Feb to 2006 inclusive that have the 16-pin OBD port.
NOTE: The 2007+ ZD30 CRD will not work.

This will work for both the Patrol and Navara D22 with the ZD30 DI (pre-CRD).

I will include a leaflet with instructions and a list of the error codes.

It may be simple - but a piece of wire to short between Pins 1 and 8 is simpler - and does not cost $25.00. Thanks for the idea - but - nuh.
