Myself and afew mates went on a day trip to pine creek near bundy. I was a good turn out including a 2 patrol wagons, my ute, 2 100 series cruisers ( 1 0f them twin locked) an 80 series (twin locked) a SAS'd toyota surf and a hilux. the tracks are medium, hard, extreme and dangerous.. DEFINATLEY worth another trip.
The Day started in maryborough at the car, bike and air show as some of my mates are in the maryborough car an hot rod club. I joined in on the show flexing the ute up on a random tilt tray.
After we were done we traded the show cars for offroad weapons and got under way. We didnt get very far thanks to some dirty C**T leaving rubbish on the road and I happened to get a pair of scissors jammed straight through my F**KING BRAND NEW TYRE. once the hole was plugged were were under way.
At the first mud patch I already had the snatch strap out recovering the unlocked 100 series. that wasnt the only recovery for the day though, as we ventured further in to the unknown the tracks got harder and harder, the ruts were deeper and the hills steeper. I had a poopee pants moment where I dropped into a rut going down a hill and my drivers side rear wheel came off the ground about 3-4 ft and as some of you may know my ute isnt short changed in the flex department so there is a bit of an understanding of how deep the rut was. .
As the sun went down we realised we were lost and Brendon in the twin locked 80 series was stuck on a verticle step up at the top of a massive hill which was way to dangerous to reverse down. he suffered some panel damage but he was successfully recovered.
All in all it was a great day and im definatly going back. here is a few pics and a short movie (this is where the battery went flat I had one more failed attempt and the next one I was up) from my camera it went flat before we reached the good stuff so most of the action is on the other's cameras. I'll post some more when I can get some pics the other guys took.
