A new adventure of the White Wolves ...

Transalpina road is the highest road in Romania and even the entire chain of the Carpathian Mountains, both in Romania and the neighbor countryes, reaching the maximum altitude at 2145 m.
The road crosses Urdele Pass of Parang Mountins from N to S and is parallel to the Olt Valley and Jiu Valley, being placed between them.

To reach Transalpina Road, me and the other "White Wolves", decided to follow some forest roads, one of them called "The Strategic Road".
Although higher and most beautiful than the oldest "Transfagarasan Road", is less known because Transalpina, although it is classified national road, it was never paved until 2009.
Maybe because it was just so hard to acces Transalpina helped to keep untouched wilderness and charm of it. It is one of the few roads in the country that can be reached by car ... and you'll be even above the clouds. And if you think not look at the pictures following ...

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you like the pics and the area where I live.

As I've said before, I intend to keep you in touch with my little country by posting pictures and few informations here, on the forum.

In this summer we planned to sped 2-3 days on the mountains, during a micro-expedition and maybe a week following the Danube river course. I'll keep you informed ...

@clunk71 - ided, the number plate is british. We prefer to keep them registrated there, because here, in Romania, the taxes are huge for cars with engine bigger than 2500 cmc.
Let me show you more pictures ...

Because this is a Nissan Patrol dedicated forum, let me present you "my ex". This is called No.5 and was a '88 K160 produced in Spain.

And this is Wolfy, a baby dog we found on the road and my mate took it with us. All the girls feed him with milk and after a day with us, he decided to be our mascot ... :)
So ... in spite of the fact he isn't a real wolf and he isn't white, he remained to guard my friends garage and is now bigger than in the picture bellow ...

I payed for my new No.6 (a '95 GQ TD42 ) 2450 pounds (3000 euro). I think it's ok.

yeah I'd say it was pretty cheap compared to here, especially if it's very good condition, that's about $3700AU. We pay anywhere upto and sometimes over $14000AU, for a GQ, obviosuly depending on age, condition and toys that are already on it.
