I had my brothers MQ LWB 2.8 for a while before I got the Mav & man did I have some fun in that thing... A little under powered but still a very capable truck indeed.

Sure for old beasts they' reliable if you can keep the rust beaten. I went for turbo deisel 3.3L. Still easy to find them in back yards etc. Just have to convince owner to sell for less than they think.

Youngest son has just found this and wants to buy it, only problem he does not have enough money until I sell the Mercedes sitting in the garage.
The owner is asking $3200 for it.

I duuno, those flares aren't mining spec. I'd say it was used for towing in and out of yards. Still worht investigating. Which motor is it Doggie? I have nice polished bullbar for it if interested. Looks clean, like the hot wire Mags. If it runs as well as pic looks, would be worth those dollars here.

How did this go Doggy?

Plas, if I remember correctly, WA has or had a law that vehicles over a certain weight have to have these details on the vehicle.

Not sure about private vehicles, but pretty sure commercial vehicles do. You don't see the average 4by in WA driving around with T A C on the side.
Come to think about it, not even sure if commercials have to have it written on the side any more either - I know they used to.

Weights displayed on doors is common in WA it must a requirement on some level but I have seen this on a lot of non commercial's too so I don't know what go's on there.

A lot of people do this if they are towing over weigh bridges a lot.
eg scrap yards, dumps, goods yards etc.
So they don't have to fill out weight claims etc.

Parts for MQ/Mks can be found fairly easy and fairly cheap ,just have to look
Seen a remote transfer sell last week for under $100
Seen complete running (although ruff round the edges)MQ/Mks sell for under $500

Although not many around, mainly due to the high scrap value last year , they are still around
Problem is some of the parts nowadays are worth more than the whole car
Seen what a good running SD33T sells for lately

If I remember correctly in the mid 80`s you still had to have TAC on all vehicles over a certain weight or something. I remember putting them on a Patrol I had to past WA rego.
