Mudski's five minute rear draw table.

Now I have somewhere to put my drink! Yay!
Not overly impressed with the current rear door tables, while they are good it just didn't click. So we are going away this weekend and I didn't want to take my small fold out table and remembered what old mate Kallen said to me many moons ago about making a table to fit on top of the drawers. Thinking to much into it I thought it was all too hard and left it. Until now.
While munching on some Biltong and sipping a Jack and coke I thought to pull out the Jigsaw and give it a whirl. Well It took maybe a whole five minutes from start to finish to make. And I must say its a bloody good table. Haha!
Tools used is a Jigsaw, a pencil, a measuring implement, a straight edge, a whole saw, cordless drill, impact driver and some sand paper.
Materials used. A piece of 12mm thick plywood, cut so the grain of the wood runs left to right for added strength and less flexing, and four timber screws.
Last pic is kinda hard to see. It was getting dark outside. I'll get a better pic with better light....

Good idea, I have a bench top on my right drawer but payed for it when I bought the drawer, should have made it like you did as it would have cost less and looks better.

You must be a better shot than me if you can punch a steamer thru a hole that small... def would not want to attempt that the morning after "Camp Curry Night"

Sadly my carpentry skills are very lacking in some part of the process.
"Measure once, have a beer, measure twice, have another beer, measure a third time and average the three different measurements during a beer break.
Commence first cut and another beer, mark where it doesn't fit, have a beer and cut again.
Have a beer while wondering why it still won't fit, finish another Beer and try another cut then throw the resulting abortion on the wood pile and sulk while finishing the Carton."

If I ever figure out where I am going wrong I'll definitely give that drawer table idea a crack

Yer that was my third one. lol We haven't gone anywhere yet. I had to work today. Going in the morning. We are going towards Sheepyards but going much further in and camping at Pikes Flat which is way upstream. Should be quiet up there.

Have you stayed at pikes flat before? If it's the place I'm thinking of that we passed through, I thought it was a pretty average spot?

We stayed at 7 mile flat last long weekend based of your feedback and that was pretty nice!

7 mile is where we want to go during a non long weekend.

Would be nice during the warmer months with the river deep enough to jump in and swim.

Yeah Pikes wasn't bad but not as picturesque as pretty much all camp grounds up to 8mile. But there wasnt many there which was good. We went and looked at Bindaree camp grounds, they would have been nice if some dickheads hadn't torn the entire place up doing donuts!

I forgot to add the table was a godsend. I think I will make another for the other drawer too now....
