Hey guys
Ive got a TD42 non turbo.
I was wonderin if anyone has ever replaced the injectors.
Im just wondering if it is a hard job to do.

I've done it and it wasn't to difficult, but I am a mechanic.
Injector pipes need to be removed from the injectors and pump, some of the clamps holding the pipes together will need to be removed. You don't need to take the pipes right out, just move the out of the way.
Spill tube needs to be removed next. This is the bit of tubing that connects all the injectors together. It has a collar that sits over the top of each injector. Be very careful removing the nuts above the collar as they can bind up and twist the collar and break the spill tube - very expensive part. I put a socket on each nut and sharply tap the socket with a hammer before attempting to undo the nuts, it helps to break the contact.
To remove the injectors you will need a 22mm deep socket with a reasonably thin wall. I have a 22mm impact socket that has been machined down for doing TD27/TD42 injectors.

What year apprentice are you and where do you work?
