Right You lot.

Its on!

the Poll happened and enough people agreed the the ANZAC weekend was a good choice.

The plan will be a Saturday Cookup and Camp Oven cook off.

The Venue will be MBs back paddock elevated with a view. drop toilets and plenty of room to camp. Mark has made his paddock available until ANZAC Tuesday and we are welcome to hang around.

There is an option to do the Dawn Service on ANZAC Day in Yarra Glen where plenty of good men served.

There is also an option to do a day drive on the Monday for those interested.

There is a POLL for numbers etc. Multi Choice. get your name down. If you can't see the POLL on Tapa then log in on a PC and get your votes in. we really need some numbers.

Assuming Mark has a post hole digger like Krisso when we went to his place he basically came to
Your camp as you were setting up and said where do you want ya dunny? Cored a hole where it worked for you and you set your tent up over it! Was a bloody Rippa idea.

Yeah mate, was a great idea. everyone had their own drop toilet and it took about 30 seconds to dig each one. Then everyone just filled them in before you left. Winner.

Too easy folks, Kanga with auger drive will be on standby for each arrival and campsite choice. You'll also have a choice of 100mm up to 450mm diameter potty holes for the serious roast comp meat eaters :-)

Hey Dave, for sure mate anyone is welcome to get out on the Saturday. We're only 45 mins from toolangi, Kinglake, murrindindi and Wesburn areas but I'll be locked down meeting and greeting and setting up on the Saturday.

Many interstaters coming on the day too.

Feel free for anyone to go out on the Saturday, I'm keen for the Monday drive as Sunday is a possible rest day for some of us...lol

AB & MudRunnerTD once numbers of attendees are confirmed we will need to get some sort of count on the protein/meat that each bloke wants to use in the ovens? May I suggest 4 types; beef, venison, pork & possibly chooken? As before we'll stockpile potatoes, pumpkin & onion sacks from old mate down the highway. We will need an idea though on meat preferences for competitors just so we don't waste it although it is a 4 day shindig for the boss and reheating Sun/Mon/Tues will soak up Saturdays beer debauchery :-)

Have to agree there, if you've ever had stock losses to dogs you'll understand why. I've seen the results of town dogs attacking sheep, and also running cattle through fences.

Yeah I don't have a problem with Feral Eradication and what not but the minute some dick pointed a gun near my dog I'd probably shoot them....
Not that I would let my dog get in a situation that he would be near any ones cattle in the first place though...

Well I have spoken to MB today and we have organised a shower for everybody to use.
MB is organising a 1000L water trailer and I have got a Joolca water heater, it is basically an instant gas hot water service which runs off an LPG bottle so there will be plenty of hot water for everyone!
Just had a tippsy brainstorm whilst filling a trough tonight mate! We'll piss the horses off and turn one of the stalls into a gravity feed Mr Winnie shower cubical :-) Has anyone got a 2x2 marquee thingo with 4 walls? http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/03/168.jpg

My shower needs a bit of pressure to actually activate it. They reckon about 10m of downhill gravity to turn the machine on, so you'll probably need the pump anyway

No worries, the shower unit is a bit funny. Won't activate without a lot of pressure. Low volume but has to be high pressure.

i had this trouble while away at Christmas. I bought a copy of your unit but heaps cheaper. it came with a Pump but i plumbed into my camper and found the pump in the camper was too low a pressure (i fitted a low pressure low flow for water conservation!). Fortunately Liftlid was there and we opened up the unit and had a fiddle. we where able to drop the feed pressure regulator down a little to make it work. Need to fiddle with the temp sensor on mine though as i had the setting wrong.

Im happy to bring my Hotty too so we can run 2 shower tents for the win. I would set it up at my camp anyway so it might as well go to the group. I bought a double adaptor to allow 2 feeds off a single gas bottle too so we can run 2 units side by side no trouble at all.

The Showers could really be set up using just tarps for walls as no roof is needed and just walls if you have anything there. I may have a 2 room ensuite tent in my shed that my dad put there that he never used, if i have it ill pack it in.

Naomi has to work Saturday morning and Monday so will travel up in the Hyundai.

Just did another count and it looks like we have 50 people.

I'm stoked we have almost 10 people to do the cook off too!

I'm thinking we need to do this as a buffet type set up where we all try a small portion of each of the approximate 10 meals labelled 1 to 10 followed by a secret ballot 1 to 3 tasty meals and other assorted voting of vege and technique with double points if anyone is keen on venison! Triple points for COT ;) jokes

For sure, they would be great mate. Was thinking we could also park our big work trailer out there as a giant table for blokes carving/serving needs. A few bricks to put under each pot would stop them burning through the wood deck, lol ;-)

Are we going to have sections marked off for the different camping categories?
We should have:

Families without babies
Families with crying babies
Couples with no kids
Young blokes on their own
Grumpy old bastards (far away from crying babies)

I would like to book into the last section. ;)

My appearance could be in jeopardy now, as work might be shipping us to QLD to help out with putting their power grid back together. But nothing is in concrete yet. Still a few weeks away...

OK, 1 roast venison , circa 4-5kg, and 3 venison slow cooked dishes, portioned for 12 servings each.

Pizzas for lunch one day, 12 pizzas of different varieties, maybe more depending on numbers.

MB, I will let you know the actual overall weights tomorrow. Thanks for the meat - greatly appreciated by all.

I have an idea, shocking I know!!!

I noticed a couple of elderly volunteers down at the IGA supermarket today start off the Anzac badge store.

In order to give something back for this awesome feast we are providing everyone attending must buy a badge down there on the weekend please.

That's all we ask.
