That`s one smick G60, love it.
As I see you are into art, there is one must see in Tassie and that`s The Wall in Derwent Bridge, I`ve see it 3 times and each time I walk away totally blown away.
Good luck and safe travels in one of gods most beautiful places.

Was great to meet you guys. I hope you enjoy the best of tassie. How'd the trout hunting go in Waratah?

Cheers bob. Did the air walk last time we were here. So far it's been nice. Even the weather is co-operating for now.

A couple of other places to go. Richardson`s Harley Davidson in Launceston, great restaurant for lunch or dinner plus museum,
The 50`s cafe in Deloriane, memorabilia and great milkshakes and burga`s, and a visit to Joe`s garage in Hobart is interesting , but normally open late in afternoon, check times.

taslucas
8th February 2017, 04:21 PM
A top tip in that type of terrain is to drive where the water is. The "dryer" looking chicken tracks around the sides are usually a boggy mess. The places where the water is deep usually have hard bottoms and a lot of rock (as can be seen in the photo).

But I reckon you didn't!

Lucas is right. It was discussed at length, it was late in the day, and after walking a bit of it and picking up side steps, number plates, shocker boots ect we sooked out.

Apparently waterfalls are a bit girly. So today the boys demanded we do something more 'manly' like a steam engine museum. Off we go and the museums theme ? Women on the land. Complete with pink tractor ! Hahaha

Oh, theres a little hedge maze on the main St of Westbury. No big loss to miss it lol.
Should be able to reel in a feed at greens beach I'd guess.
Beaconsfield mine museum thing would be worth a look on your way back and the motoring museum in Launceston is supposed to be good too. (depending on the exhibitions. I've only looked through the windows!). Also the chairlift ride in the Gorge is nice.

Had a great time at steam world last time I was there.Very interesting stuff all over the place.
Westberry is a very friendly town with stories of days gone by lazer cut into steel sheet plaques, also the sports ground has an interesting way to honor all the local stars.
Hope the G60 is going good and not giving you any grief LOL.

Did the Beaconsfield museum yesterday, was disappointed. More run down than 5 years ago and the hart mine is collapsing. If it's not repaired soon, the whole heritage centre will disappear.

26 days, 3400 kms, $473 diesel ( Katrol)
Tassie is awesome. Didn't do alot of 4wding, but next time. We've decided that if you're on a time limit just wandering around is not really a good plan.
My highlight, The Montezuma track out to the water falls

Thanks.. No damage to either of the GU's ( altho the ute did get bogged in a caravan park, haha and had to be 'recovered' by the 60)
The 60 had a brake drum come off it's backing and locked up a back wheel. Big poo moment as he was going downhill on wet bitumen.. and it got some sh!t in the carbi, but otherwise it went well. Havent added the fuel bill cos I'm too scared.

We're in the middle of planning our return for later this year.
Going to spend it on the east coast and at Port Arthur as we didn't see any of it last time (East Coast). Looking at hiring a caravan this time.
Wouldn't mind going with a bunch of 4x4s.
