Well the 4.2 is quite rarity here so I own a 2.8.

I removed the body to deal with the rust. The previous owner obviously thought washing the rig is a bad idea :shivering:

So now I am here

Planned is a supesnsion lift, custom front and rear bumpers and a snorkel. Has someone tried to put the snorkel tube inside the fender?

That's how she looked in one of the fisrt trips out

And some pics of the old troll - an MQ

Stripping her further down

http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2011/04/39.jpg

Rear axle seems quite ok.

http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2011/04/40.jpg

Surprisingly, all bushings were in top nitch condition. Well, those on the right long arm were a total scrap - wonder why only them?

I ventured on a new gard for the fuel tank. The factory one seems quite fragile. and I have already punctured the tank, so I took some 3 mm stel sheet and it came out this.

Its yellow cause that was the only paint left in the garage.

Do you think the holes are enough so that water and mud will go out freely?

Strewth a major rebuild there mate!! I would probably add a couple more larger holes in that bash plate, just washed the wifes 4b this weekend and a real pain in the arse washing out cause of lack of good sized drainage. Alternately if its easily removeable leave as is. Great build up photos mate keep em coming

Now that's what I call a full strip down and rebuild!!! Classic!!

Those holes should be ample mate, but that said, depends on the mud. As you'd know, it sometimes doesn't matter how big the holes are, it'll simply clog up, but at least with some assistance from a hose it has somewhere to go!

Top pics mate and please keep them coming as you progress.

Hello, turtey, my neighbor!

Great truck you have there! Maybe one of us will cross the border for an "international trip"! I have many friends in Vidin, my father was born in Calafat, so I come in Bulgaria often ...

Greetings from Romania!
