Can someone please tell me where and if there are rated recovery points on the 2013 Y61/GU?

I got bogged on a recent trip and used the hook under the rear doors, thinking that MUST be a fair dinkum recovery point as it is so prominant. Was I correct?

How about on the front???

Hey Matt,

That hook on the rear is definitely not a recovery point. I think Nissan call it a tie down point used for shipping the cars.
Next time I would remove the tow hitch and put the pin through the eye of the strap.

Oh Christ, bloody hell, lucky that recovery went OK then, I reckon I might even remove it, that's pretty dumb.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah it definitely looks like one and is very tempting. I reckon there would be a lot of people out there using them as recovery points.

I have removed the rear tie down point and have used the holes to secure my trailer sockets. Looks a bit crappy, but it raises the sockets above the tow bar and also stops anyone using the loop as a recovery point.

Anyone heard from TD? Havn't seen him here for a week or so. Hope all is ok.

It gives a couple of inches to reach the top for us that are suffering vertical inclined.... I'm not getting rig of mine.

Hey that's a bloody good idea, I might look into changing it into a step.

What about the front one. The hook that comes standard with the vehicle? I've seen the yellow recommended ones with slightly elongated holes from recoveries but my son uses the standard hook which shows no signs of wear or movement.

The standard front hook one is rated as a tow point from factory.
It is not a recovery point.
It may be ok for some gentle snatches but I wouldnt trust it to get me out of a deep bog or some real deep soft sand. Its begging to be straightened out by design.

I have just got some of TD's recovery points myself. Money well spent I think.
I have had an issue with fitment due to still having the factory stainless steel bar so have had to get the folded ones istead of the "T" type.
TD has been there to answer any questions I have had. Back up on his products have been great.
Also gives you the better and safer option of running a bridle for snatching out too.
