awesome looking tray. i was thinking checker plate with 3 inch bar at the front. and at least youd never have a problem with paint chipping on the mudguards

Nice, have you got a pic of the whole car finished? would love to see how it came up with that bling on the back regardless of the make...

Took us about 2 1/2 months on only Saturdays to build it, it was then sandblasted and undercoated at the Submarine corp here in Adelaide and then painted by me mate Dave at CW Crash, pity he dont work ther no more :(

Hope ya liked,

Steve.

Hey snicko,
Cheers mate, i cant take all the credit, i hav some very talented mates that help me out!
I dont have any myself, ( as im drivin usually..hehe) but if ya look on Youtube and type in Mallee Challenge 2011 and look for one titled 'stevo, mallee challenge 2011, then you should be able to find a few good ones on there, think there is some of us in 2010 as well.
And while ya there have a look at some of the video of the 'loose racing' boys in action....that GU defies words!!

Steve.

Hey mate, they look like 35" or 36" Simex Extreme Trekkas. Great tyre in the mud. Great tyre.

Don't think I've got any pics, but a mate did a comp ute tray with some cattle yad rail on the edges - its rectangular section, with a rounded top - he had the tray deck about 2" lower so there was an edge to tie stuff off to and push against with brackets etc. Also looked quite schmick and handled being dragged along banks and trees quite sell, was radiused out from the cab at about 30-40 degrees (not as sharp as a 45) from memory..... generally seemed to pick up from the sliders quite well.

Heres a pic from a google search - http://forum.australia4wd.com/index.php?/gallery/image/1518-100-2010jpg/

Maybe it wasnt this tray done at 30 degrees as they look like 45's to me.

Anyone else got a custom tray or even just a slightly cut down original tray. Just picked up my ute on the weekend and not sure about the 8x6 tray on it at the moment.

Also anyone know how simple it is to swap a tray from another ute i.e. Hilux or similar

Or even something like this from a cruiser, minus the Chev badge of course
