Hi all. Is there someone out there who could tell me the fuel supply situation in Avoca? Is there any first of all and do they have LPG?
Cheers.

Yep pyranees is a really great spot. Try the Eversley Sugarloaf Track on the northwest side of Mt Cole State Forest. Was very steep and rocky a couple of years ago. Great fun!

Views from Red Rock (northwest side of Mt Cole Stage Forest) are fantastic

Thanks for the tip Plasnart......

I'd check out that the servo still has LPG before you head down. lots are now not selling it due to reduced demand.
Lorne stopped selling it ages ago and I think the only servo has now closed so no fuel at all.

We will have to organise a trip up there soon as the fire season is nearly over. I have been up on Mt Cole with the club a few years back. There had been a lot of work done on the tracks. It was a top spot. First come first serve for the shelter. I don't know if you have to book or not now days. One of the members of the club has also driven in other parts of the Pyrenees and he reckoned it was great. You definitely need AT tyres with a lot of tread though.

Is the area closed in the fire season? When does it open?

Nah, not closed as far as I know, but being on a dry heavily timbered mountain in dry, hot weather is not on my to do list.

Well I bit the bullet and here I am. Done old bluff, tiger cat Tk, Cameron Tk. Going to old Kingtree today and donkey hill Tk. This place is gold. The tracks are outstanding and the front locker has shown its worth. More to come.

There was a combination of mist and smoke that had settled in the morning as they were doing some controlled burn offs.

Did you have to book in or pay? Did you stay at Smiths or Chinamans hut. We covered the shelter at Smiths with tarps and had the fire roaring. Was very comfortable indeed.

It is recommended to ring just in case even though we didn't book. All donations are gratefully accepted in the box and we were at Glenpatrick.
