Camped in the Pyrenees near Avoca for a few days with friends. So good to get away.

Doing any detecting or panning you're smack in the centre of Gold country?
Hows the new setup working out??

Nope, nothing more energetic that sitting, eating, talking & birdwatching so far. Might go for a walk if it all gets too much. :)

Don't trip over any "unwelcomed strangers" ha ha

Not much chance of that, MrsTea has ‘eagle eyes’.

Nice one Cuppa. Enjoy.
Avoca, that place has some good tracks through there doesn't it? Thinking of making a trip that way some time this year.

I have stayed overnight at Mt Cole. Beautiful forest and some really good tracks there. I would love to have a look around the Pyrenees as well. Plenty of mine shafts all the way through that area.

Ive camped at waterfall campsite and been through a couple of spots in the pyrenees. There is some good little tracks around there. Havent found anything extreme but a couple of good rocky climbs.... like any add water and they would certainly be epic.

There are some killer tracks threw that area.. some blokes call it a mini high country.
I've been meaning to get across and explore but just never have..

Hey Cuppa,

As Callen says, there are some great tracks up there if you want to venture out and about. Unfortunately my map is at work and not at home, but there is a ripper ridgeline track at the north end, which travels roughly north-south - not hard or anything, but like the high country only a little smaller in height ... great views to the countryside on both sides.

There are some harder tracks down the south end, and a couple up north, and some superb mining relics and tunnels.... mining stuff is north of most of the camping areas.

We took an unknown run down one track down to the mining areas, and it was awesome .... we had a tag along from our campsite, who we asked to join us as he had a fairly capable truck but was on his own, but he bailed as I think it got too intense for him. We found an easy way in and out afterwards .... I think you would really enjoy that area.

Yeah, I went with my now-defunct-club a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I took a camper trailer, so the tracks I could do were limited. I am keen to go again when the fire danger has subsided.

Thanks, but those links don't work unless you're part of the "Out and about 4x4" group on Facebook. So if you can't see them, join this group then try the links.

Nothing better than waking up at camp to the sound of a pair of Magpies warbling away.

Unlike the Murray when the Kookaburras wake the Cockatoo's and Galahs lol
then its one up all up
