I'm a bit confused as to what is permitted on Stockton Beach. I understand that you can drive on the beach, but you can't camp at all, is this right? Are you allowed to drive on the dunes? There seem to be tour providers offering tag-along tours, are you allowed on the dunes if you go with them?

Are there any alternative areas for beach driving?

Correct camping is still a no go for Stockton. http://www.worimiconservationlands.com/services.php?top=services&category=about&sid=58

Park map for beach driving can be found here: http://www.worimiconservationlands.com/services.php?top=services&category=about&sid=61, I assume from looking at google earth there are still plenty of dunes 2 play around on in that area.

So are we allowed to drive the Recreational Vehicle Area or is that area reserved for quad bikes?

Are there any other beaches in NSW that we are allowed to drive on?

Sorry mate, I have not been there in a very long time and there was no Recreational Vehicle Area back then, my guess is The rec area is for unregistered quad bikes, dirt bikes, buggies etc only and if its registered would not be allowed in there. Why else have a rec area other than to separate registered from not registered.

Have no idea on beaches, hopefully someone else on here might no the answer.

Been a couple times. Yes you can drive the Recreatioanl Vehicle Area. You'll need a permit ($10 I think) which are available from servos near the entrances. Just bring your tyre pressures down to 15psi, as it can get pretty soft and chopped up near the entrances.
