So I want to protect the old girl now that I've tarted her up with a respray and the Missus's legs seemed to have shrunk after the 2' lift by running a side bar and chassis mounted side step combo .Who has the best side rails and step in a one piece setup for the 1999 Nissan winch bar cab chassis, any input would be valued and photos please if you can.

3dogs after side bars and a proper step setup and was looking at the TJM they are only for the banks on the tele track and around mackay after the wet .its a GU series 1 1999.

Mega got a Boilie at work who will add a couple of braces extra to the TJM's as hes done for his Criuser .

I think the issue is more the thickness of the steel used. My new ones without brushbars weigh twice what the tjm did. And the tjm ones will flex a lot if you try to jack using them. But the wife prefers the tjm as the step is lower and flat.

But the wife prefers the tjm as the step is lower and flat. I'm in the same bucket with wife thing and wont be used to jack ,probably just skull drag with winch if it comes to that .

I got a set of Bolsys rock sliders made as steps with the checker plate top. These have U-shaped brackets that bolt to the chassis (no welding, no protrusion below the chassis) and are gusseted with large diameter tubing. They were $550 delivered to Canberra which I reckon is a bargain. They took ages to make them (like two months) but the finished product is excellent.

Check out the website here: www.bolsys.com.au

Evil I see you were down in my old stamping ground .Was in the road gangs that sealed from the Stuart hwy to the Rock, carted all the sand and gravel for the Resort ,did tyre testing on Lasseters for Dunlop Pacific, manned the Airport for ARFF for charter flights and out the otherside worked on the earth works for the new railway from Marla to Alice and put the tanks in at Marla so the photos brought back memories .The barwork sure looks the goods and you would need it given the car spaces are only 150mm wider that a Patrol.

Big dude who drank Southwark I know that cause the beer strike was on and he
came in with a carton of VB on his shoulder and and wanted to swap for Southwark.
Smithy rings a bell if he was the SGT at the time.
I claimed his VB lol

Big dude who drank Southwark...

Don't breed 'em as tough as that anymore eh.

I believe Bear Grylls uses Southwark as a training aid, one mouthful and from that point on his students will then happily drink their own urine, indeed anyones urine...

After all the discussion about who has the best rock sliders sill protectors etc etc I remembered a weight saving thing we did with Rallie and Sprint cars to save weight and that was to use a product like Expander foam to fill the tube . This is low weight solution that stops the tube from bending or creasing because the void inside the tube is filled with a solid thats hard too compress . Maybe something to consider with your bars .
