I was wondering if anyone knows any one or has tried themselves a conversion with a Cummins 6BT? Decent, strong reliable motors. I've had a bit of experience with them and I'd say they're up there with the awesomeness and bulletproofness of the TD42 and dare I say it the toyota 2F. Ive seen a 70 series landcruiser with a converted 6BT in it and a MACK 10 spd gear box - this thing was a beast! Was wondering if any one has ever thought of putting one of these in one of our trucks???

Here is a link to a youtube video of one running in a Patrol. Found after some googling.

I've been absent for some time, but it's about time I got back on the forum.
I have literally just bought a 6bt 12v to put in my patrol. It's a 2011 build complete engine.
I've heard and seen it's been done by various posts etc, but I've not found anyone who's had first hand experience with this

A customer of mine has done this conversion himself. It was a bit of a headache for him with a few things but he got it done. And he loves it. His brother has a LS2 in his Patrol and his dad had a 200rwkw TD42 in his Patrol and he said to me his Patrol will leave both for dust. Especially when towing he says the torque is amazing, and the fuel economy is on par with the TD42. And he spent less that I did when I did my ZD to TD conversion.
If I was ever to do a conversion again, it would be 6BT all the way.
