That exhaust looks as good as any. The text says it has a high flow cat but there was not cat in any of the photos.
Do you have a boost guage? These engines are very sensitive to air flow changes and fitting a performance exhaust may cause problems with boost control - I'm not saying you will have a problem but if you have a boost guage you can keep an eye on it.

Na no boost gauge, does have a second temp gauge though, not sure where it takes its reading from either...

What are the main things I should get to look after the engine? First thing im going to do is block the EGR.

Have a look at this thread; http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?479-3.0lt-GU-Patrols-Grenade-Facts&highlight=grenade

The first mod I would do (I have done all these mods to mine) is fit boost and exhaust temp guages. These two guages will tell you a lot about what is happening in your engine.

Second is to fit a PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) filter or catch can. This will capture the PCV oil vapour and stop it coating/fouling the mass air flow sensor. Clean the mass air flow sensor as well.

Third would be fitting a Dawes and needle valve set up to control boost, it's takes boost control away from the engine computer and allows you to safely do the next few mods.

Next would be blocking the EGR and cleaning the intake system (inlet pipes, intercooler, butterfly housing etc).
