Although it is serious I still think it is a joke. If tigerz11 were in the food industry they would have bought us Nanna's frozen berries

They have copped a smack in the mouth with those tests that were done and published..... good stuff.

Hope there are no cases of injury because of them.

This will certainly give them a worse Brand name now. Wow.

As soon as I seen this thread I thought it might be fallout from the recent destruction tests. But seriously if anyone buys a cheap arse Chinese snatch strap they are asking for it. Definitely only Buy quality on something that can produce some serious amounts of energy.

Yep just saw this. With the recent destruction test. They had to do something, although, they have only recalled a certain batch, probably because the straps tested fall within that category.

However, if you have any strap of this type, I'd be replacing it with a quality brand. The extra $50 is well worth your life.

Never buy safety/recovery gear because its cheap. It's cheap for a reason.[crape]
wait the extra week and buy a quality brand name ,and read the label.
A strap for a shorty might not suit a ute or a wagon for that matter.
Bigger does not mean better, you want the strap to perform as it was designed too.

For all I know, my ARB branded one could fail the first time I use it, just as much the Tigerz11 one failed. But in general I tend to stick to, you get what you pay for.
The people at 4wdsuperstore have trouble sending out stuff when you buy it, some people wait for months. I'd love to see how quick they will exchange straps or refund people on this magnitude. All I can say is good luck. They have a bad name as it is let alone after this.

I know several people who have bought their winches and had endless trouble from day 1 before they have even fitted the thing, let alone used them. I wouldn't trust my patrol hanging off that thing, that is for sure.

Ironman broke before the rated weight. And according to an article removed all stock from their shelves. But I imagine there are still items in curculation.

A fail is fail either way you look at it. Im surprised there is no safety factor with these straps. They were all pretty inconsistent even though most did get to there rated capacity.

Thanks,,, how can ppl skimp on recovery items , it is beyond belief.
Lives are on the line, There should be no excuse for this.
Saying wrong thread was used or labelling was wrong not exceptable IMO
I wonder what Ironman have to say seeing they are a sponsor here
And still no tow ball warnings

Wish they’d had my brand of strap in the test. Have never used it, but wouldn’t want it to fail when/if I do. Someone on another forum tells me they have one the same & have used it without problem a few times. Brand is ‘Black Rat’. http://theriggingshop.com.au/products/4wd-gear/black-rat-heavy-duty-4wd-snatch-strap.html
I’ve got the 1200kg one given the weight of my car + Tvan

Im not sure how they can either especially when straps like the bush ranger and opposite lock ones perform very well and are very well priced. The bushranger i think is around 65 and the opposite lock 80 (dont quote me), the opposite lock item had the greatest strength.

Agree its not like the material used [webbing strap] is expensive
I would also think they make a nice profit on any strap up to $100
anything over that is just theiving IMO. Hope no one get injured
just because someone was cutting corners for more profit GGRRrr

@ Cuppa Black rat are ok

Funny how they say their testing noticed the straps were not up to scratch.
I would never buy a Tigerz product mainly because its built or made to a price not a standard

A comment only and not related to prev posts...
Unfortunately there is no full A.S. for Kinetic (Snatch) Recovery strap manuf or performance.
There is only a product A.S. regarding labelling.

It is past time the Gov't man brought in a full standard, maybe this will trigger one, maybe not.

At least a full A.S. will stop the import/manuf and sale of "shit" ones.

You would hope a rigging shop would have done it's due diligence and verified it's rated capacities. Mine are mostly WARN, so a pity they weren't on the test either. I do have some TJM, I'll just remember to use them on lighter cars only especially if wet.
