Tapping/rattling noise

I have a TD42 05 model. It's got a pretty good tapping sound comming from the either the fuel pump or vacuum pump. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Maybe run some Castrol T2 through the fuel to keeps things quieter
Tappets may need adjustment, when were they last done??

Get a long handled screwdriver and put it on various places and listen to the end of the screwdriver..this will pin point noises. Be careful of rotating parts..
