Hey guys,

Looking to get some specifics in regards to a TD42 swap into a GU shell.

My understanding is that a TB45 manual GU is best suited to the swap as there is no need to change engine mounts (use TD42 bellhousing with TB45 manual gearbox). Keep in mind ill have a full running GQ to take bits from to complete the conversion. Looking at getting Killa Kustom Cables to do me up a loom to keep things neat and tidy.

What are other things that i'd have to do? Can I just swap out the diesel fuel tank sender for the petrol one? Will my GQ exhaust go close to fitting a GU? Will the tacho work with a Killa Kustom loom as the TB is also a 6cyl?

Other than these small things I've got the swap pretty well laid out in my head from the research I've managed so far. If anyone could shed some more light that'd be great. Hope I havent missed any glaringly obvious hurdles.

I'd like to avoid a ZD30 GU so that I dont have to worry about an engineers cert due to structurally altering the chassis (plus there is a tidy TB45 close)

TIA.

Sounds like you've got it sorted.

There may be a few electrical things which will need sorting from the older gq to the gu. But they should be easy.
Not sure if we have a gu tb to td conversion here.
Defiantly do up a build thread.

Exhaust may be an issue. The pipes should be similar but mounts may have changed.
