Also just designed a new 20mm thick point but sadly not for a Patrol its a horse of a unit.
The Y62 is causing problems too being IFS, there are foue spare captive nuts
under the radiator support panel but they are only 10mm, could use all 4 and have a central
point to tow, will have to see, Maybe Kev could suss that part out for me, not many Y62s down this way

why would you eat berries ever again knowing how they are processed, yukky poo poo water.
Mick Catter had the right idea on labeling, saying along the lines of,
"these berries were processed using a method which would not pass Australian STD.
eating them may cause ill health"

yes its a shame but lets be clear here, its companies like bunnings, masters, and tigers that get all this cheap chinese shit into oz that are forcing aussie companies to go offshore with production and its driven by consumers, yes we are our own worst enemies!! i have seen some good wood heater manufactures get their product out of china now due to cheaper shit from china taking over 50% of the market.. thankfully coonara, jarrahdale and nectre still have aussie made heaters and will keep making them here.
This is a great thread btw keep up the good work.

Yep, exactly right Stropp. We need to vote with our wallets. I quite often tell people that whine about the lack if jobs in Tasmania that if everyone in tassie bought only tassie stuff then we'd all be gainfully employed and the state would be booming. Same goes for Australia as a whole.

It's not just imports that can be of concern. The deaths allegedly from "Jindi cheese" springs to mind.

I fail to see how labelling will change anything. Consumers want items that are convenient, cheap and I doubt most people would even take the time to read the labels.

Maybe if the mad hatter and his cronies put more effort into legislation regarding food standards and the enforcement of this legislation, instead of playing it up for the media.

We might just have a safer food supply, of course this would also increase the cost to our food supply.

There are mobs geared up here solely for the purpose of flogging off our land and houses to offshore entities. If we don't stop it we will all be rent-paying tenants in our own country.

Mrs mudsane makes every effort to buy local produce, and it has cost us heaps over the years.

Labeling of food as Aussie made sometimes can be misleading, seeing that some products only get a bit of Aussie water and/or sugar and salt mixed with it. I learned yesterday that foreign pork only has to get made into bacon here to be labelled as Australian.

Yeah there was a Local milk bar in Doreen not far from here that had been there since cocky was an egg. Then the big new housing estates started to arrive, next Coles opens up and forces them to shut down. Damn shame....

The same has happened in Whittlesea. Not long after macdonalds moved int the local fish and chip shop shut and a few others have followed suit as well.

The thing is that if more ppl bought Aussie made the richer out country would become and eventually the prices would start going back down.

We try and buy Aussie made but not much really is anymore.

All you need for "Australian Made" Kanga Logo is 50% of the cost of production to have been incurred in Australia.
A good accountant, deft use of a ledger and assembly costs can probably spin that to say 20% of retail.
If it takes 10 men 100 hours at a cost of $500 in China to make a flat pack of box trailer parts and 2 men 2 hours to assemble the parts here in Oz at a cost of $600 then the product is Aussie Made.

All you need for the Heart Tick is a one off licence fee determined on the cost recovery for the testing of your product.
The Heart Foundation is a Charity that raises it's funds on donations which is seperate to the 'self funded' Tick program.
Getting a Tick for your product by giving a donation would be illegal.
