Gu2/3/4

Hi folks,
I know this is pretty basic........but could someone tell me the what the differences are between GU2 & GU4. I bought a Sept '06 4.2TDi cab chassis today & had thought it to be a GU4, but the dealer assured me it was a GU2.

Is there a GU1 & GU3 also?

It has the same front as mine, and mines a series 3...

So does the 2, 3, 4 etc basically go by date? Is it basically changes to body shape? Can you get GU 2/3/4 with different motors for example? I looked at the Wikipedia timeline for the Patrol/Safari, but it didn't have the answer. Is the 2/3/4 something Nissan use, or just terms that have become common use between owners?

Someone's gotta know?

Looks like a s3 mate. From memory the s4 have square lights and guards. Should be able to tell with a VIN number too. Give nissan a call with it and they should be able to help you over the phone!

That is a Series 4... Cuppa yours is a Series 1 to 3.. Doesn't really matter what it is as anything you buy for it in a series 1 to 3 will bolt straight on. when you go to Series 4 lots of stuff no longer fits.

It would be interesting to check the compliance plate on that. Telstra may have had a large shipment come in and just held them for rego when required so it might be "First Registered" in 06 but be an 03 as it looks.??

x 2 with MR check the vin plate, either way it's a Gu so it'll always be great.
