So over the last few weeks I've been building my winch bar to house the 11xp..

So I started with a plan.
I've loved this bar for a while now. Been an inspiration of sorts.

Anyway enough chubbys.

Let the build begin.
I've made the side plates 12mm thick and incorporated some points on the front.
I also wanted a good angle so bought the winch up above the chassis rails.
Main plate is 4mm with 40x 4 angle to mount the winch on..
50mm side tubes and 40mm brace. 3mm check plate to fill the gaps.
Anyway. Enough chit chat.

I might. It's finished atm. Just working how I want to have the hoops.
Still to mount my light bar, spoties, UHF Ariel and sand flag mount.

Maybe just a central hoop to hang some lights and antenna's off
76mm or 100mm

i reckon no loop. Would look sick with the spotties mounted to the sloped bits on top of the center. Uhf and sand flag mounted to the checker plate

Why can't you put the number plate above the winch hawse?

Well that's my plans atm. Light bar over centre ridge and my 7" spotties just off to either side.

UHF and sand flag along side them.
I am thinking a hoop at some stage. But unsure on size and shape atm.
It'll do till Feb lol

And yea I plan to. Just going to enquire about new plates as mine are 24 years old lol. New bar, new plates.

Now to design the rear and steps

Looks great Kallen, but I also reckon it needs the hoop. Just looks like you've built half of it otherwise. Built it really well, but not all of it!

Awesome. I envy your free time. Although I know if I start tinkering, I probably have it "in the shop" for years.

Spare time. Bahaha. I wish. Lol. I was working arvo shift so I had my mornings a little free'er than normal.
But welcome to the world of 4x4`n. Our cars are never finished lol

As Winnie says use spring loaded hinges for your number plate and mount it over you Hauwes fairlead.

Nice work mate..... Ohhhhhhhhh, but it also needs a hoop ;)

Go the hoop - radiator protection for when skippy jumps left instead of right at night on the highway. Smashed headlights are one thing, but a pushed in radiator will see you stranded.

Looks good though Kallen, nice and solid with a great approach angle.

I reckon you need a hoop, upside down one with an inverted twist. That would look shoit hot:)

What if I want to be different??

Nah, not allowed. We all have to conform to societies expectations and peer group pressure. Ha ha.

Tell us all to get stuffed and do what you want! lol

(But put some side hoops on - it would look good. :P)

Winnie

Are you gonna put hoops on your rear bar too?

Hey, Kallen, how did you cut the opening for the winch rope and the holes for the recovery points? They've come up neat and wondering if you managed that at home somehow or if it was done at a professional shop?

BigRAWesty

I have a plasma cutter. Always helps lol.
But if you have simple tools I'd use a suitable hole saw for either end and then cut the middle out between the holes with a grinder.
All my larger holes are 40mm
