Looking to buy a Runva 11XP Winch

Hey all,

Based on a lot of the advise from here on the forum, I've pretty much settled on purchasing Runva 11XP to fit up to GU6 standard Nissan steel Bar.

From those that have installed, are there any suggestions to make the install go easier? I've read about needing to rotate the gear box - is this fairly straight forward? Any thing else I should be aware of?

The winch comes with instructions on how to rotate the the housing. Easiest way to install it is to remove the bullbar and fit it off your truck then put it back on.

It can be easier if you get a mate to help out with the lifting

Yeah, I rotated the gearbox when installing on my GQ, my old man didn't bother when he installed it on his GU and now regrets it. He can still get to it, but access is tight and fumbly. Mine points upwards, easy to reach.

From memory we just undid the two big bolts that are on the silver bars on the clutch side. Once that was undone, pull it apart, and you'll see 12 from memory hex screws. Undo those, spin it around, and tighten them back up. Someone can probably go into more detail, but it shouldn't take you too long.

You don't need to take the Bullbar off, that's way too much work and effort. Undo the 4 10mm bolts that hold the front edge of the bottom splash guard on and it will hinge down towards the ground on the rear rubber joining section. This allows you to simply and easily slip the winch in from underneath. There's enough room to almost get 2 winches in there. Pop the grill out and this allows cavernous amounts of access to run all the cabling. Very straight forward job and easily done on your own. The 2 clips that hold the bottom of the grill in can be a bit of a PITA to undo, but worth persevering with.

That would depend on what bar you have as to whether in needs to come off our not

Thanks for all the advice guys, I'm hoping to purchase one next week and get it installed over the weekend!

Did anyone have issues with the clutch leaver clearing the bar? Or require a offset hawse fairled?

Sorry for all the questions, but would prefer to guy everything in one go to save multiple trips to the shop 1/2 through the install!

Yeh it's the standard Nissan steel bar so hopefully it fits straight up no problem

The supplied fairlead was spot on. It utilises the top bolt holes that hold the winch in. You will need 10mm longer bolts for this.

What did you do with your number plate? Did you just put some hinges on it so you can fold it up when using the winch or is there a better option?

I just moved it up and tech screwed it straight into the front of the bar. Seemed like a cheaper option.

Finally got around to updating my build thred with the installation of my Runva 11XP for any of those interested. Thanks to a couple of the guys on here for these advice and assistance!
