Using air bags from a 94 GQ in a 99 GU

I bought a 94 GQ ute with a Brunswick 6.5 in it to rip out and put into a 99 GU wagon.
I noticed the ute has had all the suspension done and I'm wondering if it will go straight into the GU ?
A friend has told me its pointless as the air bag suspension is only for towing heavy loads. (the ute was used on a farm to tow a boom sprayer around)
Is it pointless or will it improve the ride ????

No it will bolt straight in. The Polyair Airbags you have there are to allow you to use a lighter spring for daily travel and the supplement the springs when you loaded up or towing. Not the best as the right spring is perfect but if you have them on hand i would fit them in no problem.
