Hi Guys and Gals,

I went to do an oil change Saturday arvo but could not remove the bloody sump plug. I used a 1/2" socket extension but
I could not get it to fit so i tried it in the front diff and it fit straight away so as i squeezed my head into a small gap and
I noticed the sump plug was a hexagon shape and obviously did not have anything that would fit so i had to can the oil change.

I went to all the automotive joints and none of them sell this socket to fit (of course lol) so i have ordered a sump plug key
Set which should rock up in a week or so.

Has anyone else experienced this as i have never had this problem with any other car i've owned ???

Cheers Dave

Super cheap sell sump socket kits. Not sure on the type though.

As a quick alternative, in the past, I have used a high tensile bolt with two locked nuts to open a gearbox plug.

Looks like they have a 12mm hex in the kit.
