I think they have them in Aus under the guise of getting your bait out past the surf break etc. I'm glad they cost so much, they won't get popular!!!

Years ago there was a product called the Beach Bazooka that with the aid of compressed air would propel a 2kg lead weight out past the breakers
Pretty sure they are now banned from Vic Beaches as the were just a poor mans cannon
