Think Kallen would like this one, the top link also does Lambo door kits for Chrysler 300 if you know any one with one.

Australia[edit]

In Australia the operation of FPV aircraft is subject to laws and regulations regarding radio spectrum use which is enforced by the ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) and the use of airspace as enforced by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority).

All unmanned aeronautical activities in Australia are ruled by CASR (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations) Part 101[5] which includes sections for UAV's and model aircraft among other operations. It is currently under review and new regulations specifically relating to UAV's and model aircraft are anticipated.
Any commercial use (i.e. any form of payment or benefit) of an unmanned aircraft results in the operations falling under the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operations Section, CASR 101-1. This section requires formal licensing, training and documentation procedures to be approved and followed. These requirements will typically require an outlay in the order of thousands of dollars which places commercial operations beyond the reach of most hobbyists. This is one area currently under review by CASA with initial reports indicating a potential option of simpler registration for light-weight UAV's without requiring formal certification.
Non-commercial use is governed by section 101-3[6] which includes requirements that:
No commercial benefit is to be obtained from operating the model – to be flown only for sport or recreational purposes
Maximum weight of 150 kg (models over 25 kg must be operated within a club setting under additional conditions)
Models under 100 grams are exempt from regulation
Only to be flown in daylight unless under written procedures of an authorised organisation (such as the MAAA)
The model must remain within continuous direct sight of the operator
When within 3 nautical miles of an aerodrome or when within controlled airspace, flight is limited to 400 ft above ground level

Nephew something similar and uses it with the GoPro. Did a run over the other nephews property and the film was brilliant. I'd love one as well.

If your doing long range RC, then you use UHF for the Control frequency and whatever video frequency you want (2.4 is pretty common).

So some people (depending on conditions, type of antenna, transmit power etc) are getting over 10KM in range. Highest flight (I know of) was something like 28000ft (some guy overseas)

I dont fly mine anywhere near that..but I do use UHF for rc control.

Mate of mine has a drone. Cost him around 2k. His drone self levels when there is a cross wind, even really strong winds. We had it down the local park a while back and he gets it into the clouds, yes clouds, and turns the controller off and sits down on the grass. A minute later it was sitting on the grass next to us. Its GPS tracked so if you lose reception from controller to drone it will simply return to the point of where it first took off.

Luckily I'm sure you can gift beer for payment. Also I would class beer as being sporting.

Therefore you could do jobs for beer.

I know it's an old thread but I just joined the forums so I'm catching up...

I've been into quadcopter's for a while now and have a few home made ones. I've been working on a portable one that carries in a pelican case (bunnings alternative cause im cheap) specifically for outdoor 4wd trips and I'm almost there (besides getting the 4wd). Costs around $400 for the full kit, even spare parts. But it does take a lot of time and learning. I'll be installing a gopro attachment on the miniquad soon.
