Hi again,

A 2003 GU III 3.0L TD Auto Patrol we are looking at had a bit of an oil leak from the Turbo when we looked at it. The owner was unaware (family car, not 4wder!)

The oil wasnt making it to the ground, it was mostly just there if you felt it.

He had it looked at today and they said Turbo is fine and a $3 gasket replacement will fix it!

Does that sound about right? Its a concerning thing buying a Patrol with their history....

Thanks and Sorry for all the questions!

ETA: I should mention its got about 160 000kms on it.

if they say its a three dollar fix get them to fix it before you purchase.

Ask all the questions you want.

The oil could be PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) oil mist that has condensed in the inlet system. The oil mist is normal, some of us fit PCV filters or catch cans to keep the oil mist out of the inlet system.
