What's so special about the fuel filters for the TB42S engines? According to the Ryco catalogue, a Z322 fuel filter is only used on GQ Patrols (& Mavericks of course).
Why would Nissan choose to use a filter that no one else is interested in?

Does everyone stick with the original filter? or is there a more common (more sensible) replacement that does the same thing?

Thanks.

So nobody knows of an alternative?
Or did I come across too strong with saying it's crazy to use a fuel filter that nothing else uses?

Bump - this may have been missed mate, so have responded to bump it up the list.

I think they just use the ryco one as it has the correct configuration and size for the patrol, as in it fits the bracket next to the battery, inlet in the bottom and 90 deg out let at the top. It has a 10mm inlet and outlet. I suppose any other filter that is roughly the same size and config would still work, but for about $12 for the ryco filter it might be just a convenience thing.
