Going to get some S/S trivets made 200 or 8" in diameter x about 2mm
will have three feet 10mm long, if anyone is interested give me a Pm or whatever
These will be better than whats out there in the market place, some are selling cake drying racks as trivets WTF
I'm making them as plain as possible to reduce cost, getting back to making gear again
Should fit nicely in a 9quart camp ovena

still being cut they are plain ,,as the expense in in the gas for cutting it,,, so its basically an 8" plate with 3 legs
2mm thick from 304 stainless, should be easier to clean than those perforated jobs,
could even be cheaper again that's ball park it wont be any higher that's for sure.
to get the legs out place on a vice slightly open and push legs down, then just bend to 90 degrees with a pair of plyers

KISS

Hi all I have the trivets back from the Laser cutter,
if you get one all you need to do is place it on a slightly
open vice and tap with a nail punch or similar, turn it over
and bend tabs to 90 degrees with a pair of plyers, pretty easy if you are handy
with tools, PM if interested.
Material is 2mm x 304 stainless steel, easy to clean
and IMO better than whats out there ATM.
Feet are 10mm off the base and diameter is 200mm
As you can see perfect for a foil liner

Camp oven newby here. Is the idea just to get the roast or whatever your cooking off the bottom of the oven so the hot air circulates around better?

Yep. Makes it a more even oven..

as above helps with convection plus if you cook
your roast in a foil tub it'll keep your camp oven cleaner
and the heat more even, eliminating any "hot spots"

Stops the bottom of your roast burning too.

All what I thought, Thanks guys. I think my camp oven might be a bit small for your trivet though TD, will have to get the tape out.

I use oven bags sometimes if I don't feel like doing any cleaning works a treat unless a bone rips the bag.

Oven bags work a treat until as you say they break some how, stews are my pet hate with the camp oven.
After a weekend away enter the threedogs well two now, then a light scrub and oil ready for next time.
cant wait to try my new alloy 12" camp oven7
