have a search there should be heaps of conversion threads for you to read.
Top RH corner should be your starting point, good luck

I dont think you need to. I think. I did read somewhere that the ratio of the zd30's is preferred? ?? Im sure someone will be able to shed some light. I will be leaving mine when I eventually do the conversion. Unless its screamong its guts out I will worry about it then.

All depends on what's in there and what tyre size your running? 4.2td generally come with a 3.9 or 4.1 diff. I converted a 2.8td to 4.2td and had the 4.6 diffs with 33's and found it to rev way to much for my liking on the highway so went back to the 4.1 diffs from the donor ute. 4.3 would probably be my preferred with the 33's or even 35's.

Well..im using 285/75/16 right now with 4" lift..it look smaller when fitted to 4" lift..lol..maybe 315/75/16 looks bigger..but im afraid my zd30 engine would stress out 41320

Mine is an ex zd30 converted to a TD4.2t. 2" lift with 33's. still running ZD30 ratios, no problems. Speedo is out, about 95Kmh is in fact 100Kmh. Revs show 2000rpm at 100Kmph, should be about 2500rpm's.
