04OFF
5th February 2014, 11:04 AM
Thinking about maybe going up to the Glasshouse Mountains this weekend, was thinking Saturday, anyone keen ?

EDIT

We are now meeting @ 2.30pm , at BP Caboolture, then head up to GH for the afternoon and on until after dark (for a bit of a night run)

Finish time will vary as each person gets tired, but say we stay out till 8.30, that's still at least 5hrs wheeling, some may wish to stay longer, or go earlier, no pressure to do either.

We can stop around 5.30 -6pm for a feed, so bring what ever food you need.

As it will get dark, a torch would be a good idea.

UHF 17 (if not taken)

About 10 cars coming so far (some standard spec)

Normally like to get there no later than 9am, but im almost tempted to do a after lunch start, and then stay till after dark for some "night running", the stars out that way look amazing.

Depends whos keen, open to all or any suggestions , just wanna do "something" !

Lachlan, im guessing you would be arriving @ GH around 4pm then ?, we can easy organise to meet you somewhere.

(BTW, Any of those guys that came on the last GH trip you organised are more than welcome mate.)

Matty, what time would suit you to meet ? BP Caboulture would suit me, as you know your way around/into GH better than me, save me getting lost (ha-ha)

It will be fine mate. My sister has her GQ wagon in there with stock suspension and highway terrains. There are ways around most things.

Oh and Steve I'm coming and so is Sharee, so 2 vehicles here. I just have to pick a mate up at caboolture.

You would love it mate, i went there my first time on bald road tyres, no lift, no experience and had a ball, pretty much everything has a chicken track, and were not out to bash up anyones truck, just get out there and explore and have some fun.

Most tracks in and out of the place you can do easy in 2wd, then choose a harder side track/s if you want to have a play !

Come for a look, knowing you have other vehicles along, and if you don't like it, just go up to the lookout or something, worth a look also.

Families are always welcome mate, I should add tho ,if it really is your first time real "off roading" , that due to the hours of bumping and rocking, and the fact there is no exciting final destination (e.g a campground), my better half and my daughter opt to stay at home, my son and myself on the other hand, just love it

Just got home, what a great time, thanks to everyone that came out (we had 10 cars total), newby and hurley your knowledge of GH made this trip so much better (mega later on too), some of the guys and gals in stockos did outstanding jobs of following everywhere, and did not shy away from much at all (you guys rock) :049:

We did some even wilder tracks once we got down to 4 cars later in the evening, again guys , id have never found such fun on my own, so thanks for making the most of it with me.

I put my son in charge of pics, so no idea what we've got, but he is normally pretty good, allowed me to have lots more fun driving, I didn't take any night stills as planned, as there was no stars at all, in fact I didn't take a single pic I was having so much fun !

When your mate in the lux was behind me his looked to be dull it was more like head lights brightness , was not annoying at all , is it a cheaper bar , or not been set up correctly ?

Im not sure? His is the same light as mine as we bought a few at the same time so it should be the same but it wouldn't surprise me if something's not done right, hilux are negative switched and when you start the car his light bar flashes, I've looked it over and it seems to be working fine and wired correctly but it just has a strange flash when the car starts..

Thanks for telling me though I'll compare them next time I see him and have another look.

Sure it wasn't due to there being only one ? Or maybe his isn't adjusted straight though that's hard to do with a light bar lol

Gold. It was good to also see your 2 little ones thoroughly enjoying themselves as well mate. It makes it that much better when the family enjoys it too. As you saw with having pretty much having all of mine there.
