Has anyone used the strops? They appear to have a better maintenance life than the straps!!!

yes i have one. they are very old school and pre-date the modern Kinetic Snatch strap. Big and Bulky! when i have carried mine i have hung it off teh spare tyre as its too bulky to conveniently carry in the car.

yeah i dont think they are practical these days. This thing is Massive! Its probably 25mm to 30mm diameter, 10 to 15m long and that is a Big Coil of "Not very flexible" Hard rope you have to pack around

I've heard good and bad.

They have more stretch so a softer recovery.
But size is the down fall.

I personally prefer them.. But size when camping is a killer.

A mob in Melbourne sold them years ago, as MR says they are heavy and bulky,
and from memory pricey as well. Don't think he sells them anymore

Well I Have done a few recoveries but I'm not small to pack away or cheap lol
