My hubby's is changing the oil on our beloved patrol and we've lost the service manual so he's asked me to search the net on how much it needs... Can anyone help?

You might want to post up an intro in the introductions section to say g'day to everyone mate - just a courtesy thing is all, even if you aren't going to be a 'regular'! What model is the patrol??

Was posting the above from my iPhone - what a goose!!! Humble apologies, you were in the intro section ... see ... I could have just deleted the words, but no! I made a mistake ... that's two now ... a long time ago I thought I was wrong about something, but I was mistaken then too!!! LMFAO!!!

Welcome to the forum Kim.

It depends which engine and which model Patrol, but the basic rule is fill it until it says it's full on the dipstick. Roughly 6-7 litres for petrol GQ and GU, 11 litres for a 4.2 diesel.

Hi all,

About to change the oil on my beast also. Was thinking of using this.
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Nulon-High-Kilometre-Engine-Oil-20W-50-5-Litre.aspx?pid=164742#details

Anybody who's used it got any comements on performance ?

Currently using Caltex GTX Modern Engine 15/40 with no probs.

Cheers
