Hey Guys,

Just wondering what other do with regards to service intervals on their diesels?

I do every 5k for oil complete with oil & air filter.
Fuel filter every 20k
Diff's, Trans & Gear every 20k as well.

I have spoken to other guys who do oil every 5k but leave the old filter in and change it at 10K and others who just do both at 10k.

Anyways, just curious as to what your thoughts are on the issue etc."

Every 5k for me but I do a lot of k's in mine so its around every 8 weeks. Costing me a small fortune it is. The fuel filter every 30k I do and the oils for the box etc gets done after I drown my car in water. :D

Know the feeling, if I have to work full time (only do a 5 day fortnight at present) I clock up 790k,s and get to the next 5k service real fast. The bright side is a small fortune now or a bigger one if left IMO.

Normally 5000klm for oils but my son in law swears by the stuff he gets me and even though he says 15000klm I'm doing it at 10000. All the rest 20000klm except the air filter, 5000 of more frequent if its dirty.

I have 4 air filters, get them washed for $15 each so tend to swap them earlier.

We have 2 work vans, the Nissan, my wife's sedan and the daughters as well so we save a small fortune getting the filters cleaned.

Is 20k on the duffs, and transfer too frequent? I thought they would be able to go longer than that?

Most likely can - not totally sure. I forget the recommendation in my manual but I like 20k, not too costly and it also makes me pay close attention to the underside on my troll more often.

I pretty much go by the book, although do filters with every oil change.

With my TD42, I do the engine oil and filters every 5,000kms and the Diffs/Gearbox/Transfer/Coolant/Brake/Clutch/Power Steering/Belts every 2 years (around 40-50,000kms).
