Just wondering if the TD42(Diesel) Gearbox has the same ratio's as the TB42 (Petrol) Gearbox.
I'm in the planning stages of swapping my TB42(Petrol) to the TD42(Diesel) & was wondering if the gearboxes are the same apart from the bellhousing which I know is different.

I'm also aware that the petrol's & diesels run different diff ratio's.

The reason I ask is I can't see a reason to swap gearboxes if I don't need too!!

Cheers,
Paul

You may find all that info in the archives if you have a look

Paul,

It will swap fine, I swapped my TD42 gearbox which was knackered for a really low mileage TB42 gearbox. Apart from the bell housing the only other thing you should have to change is the speedo sensor unit.

Hope this helps
