* Maximum of three entries per person.

* Multiple entries should be made in separate posts

* Each entry should consist of a single photograph & a short description only

* Comments pertinent to entries are encouraged, but please do not use this thread to engage in banter

* Photos MUST have been taken by the member posting the photos or members of their party.

* Any photo which has been a winner will not be eligible for re-entry in any future competition.

* Please do not post photos that are not entries in the competition.

* The winner of the month's competition gets to choose the following month's competition topic.

Toward the end of the month the date & time of competition closure will be announced. Following this time the thread will be locked & the 'Thanks' counted to determine the winner.

* 'Thanks' may be added or withdrawn at any time during the month up until the competition is closed.
You are welcome to thank as many different posts as you wish!

* In the event of a tied first place I will add a casting vote, except in circumstances where my entry is one of the tied ones, in which case I will withdraw my entry.

*Inappropriate photos eg, sexual, racist, violent etc are unacceptable & should not be posted.

Still trying to figure out how to get Billy and Tyson in same pic.
both Highly strung but Tyson would whoop Billys butt in a heart beat if needed,
Billy can wait.
Heres Tyson closest thing you can have to a wombat without actually owning one.
When Crooza was sick Tyson ate all the food for two dogs, now he's on a strict diet
Tyson is a Bull Arab/cross bull arab no idea where blue comes from

Great to see so many entries coming in so soon.

Here’s my second entry, MrsTea giving Bert a hug.
We both loved Bert & his missus, ‘Leftie’. Had them both from 6 weeks old. Leftie was a little ‘stand offish’, but Bert was a sucker for a back & tummy rub. I miss Bert a lot. He & Leftie in many respects defined our life on the farm having bought them not long after we moved here & stayed with us for the next 15 years. Euthanasing Bert was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but his back legs had given out on him & after two months of levering him up onto his feet with a length of timber I knew it was the right thing to do. He was a rare breed ‘Large Black’ & weighed around 500kg at his peak.

Meet Zac, We've had him since he was about 8weeks old. He is a rescue dog, and is a very weird mixed breed of Staffy cross Foxy.... Silly Zac is a rottwheiler living in a small dogs body, He's a big sook, gets easily wound up and doesn't take to other dogs very well. We took him down the beach once on a lead, an old couple with a fluffy mop that was off leash offered for us to take him off the leash, we said no but they insisted saying it will be alright, Well Zac got off the lead and as soon as old moppy ran the hunt was on! Zac took a good chunk of hair out of fluffball's tail and that was the end of that lol.

2nd is our Budgie named "Ducky" My dad found him out the front of their house and was being attacked by other birds, I took him home and we healed him up, He used to share a cage with another bird but now he lives by himself. When he was younger he used to make noises that sounded like a duck and so the name stuck. He is a bit of a weird one and believes he is a rainbow lorrikeet and by chirping to them they will come and see him!

Some great pics here people, love the dogs.
If only I had a camera the other day, I was in the Masters car-park and saw a dog in a Ford panel-van that looked like it had a pigeon in it's mouth. Walked over to discover it was part of the grey lambswool seat cover he was busy destroying. When I was back in the car-park about 30mins later, had another look and the dog was curled up in a nice nest he's created out of the seat cover and seat, lambswool, foam and stuffing everywhere. Went back to Masters and asked them to use public address to get the owner out to check his dog. Was a cool day and windows were partly down otherwise would have rung the RSPCA. Serve them right for leaving the dog, just hope it didn't get a hiding.

Voting is now closed & we have a clear winner.

Firstly however let me congratulate everyone who entered & thank all who voted. Participation is the name of the game, but that said we have had some top entries again.

Our standout winner is Fracster, who despite living in a climate where the sun rarely shines did himself proud with his outstanding portrait of his handsome mate Alf.

2nd place went jointly to : Macca86 for his photo of Jimmy & the bunny. The look in Jimmy’s eyes said it all.
and Coldcomfort’s photo of his mate Billy when he was a cute little pup. I showed it to MrsTea & her predictable response was “Ahhhhhhhh how cute”

3rd place went to ThreeDogs for his pic of his old mate Crooza who clearly thought himself equal to any human when it came to seating arrangements

Well done to all winners.
As winner, Fracster the choice of topic for the December competition is yours. I will post the new comp once I’ve heard.
