A huge thanks to Stropp and Clunk for a fantastic day out at the Powerlines, and for taking me along for the ride .....

Not having met these guys before, I can let you all know that these guys are genuinely fantastic blokes (If you couldn't already see by the quality of their posts and assistance on the forum ) - willing to go out of their way and show me some beautiful country that as a visitor, you would never see. :clapping:

I have lots more pics taken on the phone, but it is taking a long time to upload them .....

I must say, both Stropp and Clunk said at the start of the day, that they were going to drive conservatively, and although they were taking the safety first attitude, I can't honestly say they drove conservatively ......

I think Stropp couldn't believe the Navara taking the big rock step full on, and it got the better of him when he saw that .....:smiley_thumbs_up:

Clunk did the right thing giving that one a miss, as it is definitely rock slider and difflock material.....

I have to say though Stropp it was good to see you taking on that step up. Specially as you've been thinking about it the last few times we've been up there. I know I would have broken something for sure if i tried it. Good on ya mate, it brought a big smile to my face seeing you do it :D

The pictures don't do the rock step justice, but every vehicle that made it over brought a smile to my face.....

( It was nearly tears in the eyes, when Stropp nearly couldn't get past the smaller rocks at the base ...... :hpfredgeorge1: )

It was funny standing on the outside as they were only little rocks, but they were perfectly spaced apart for a GU Patrol wheelbase ......

This particular rock is a lot steeper than it looks....

Yeah the rock Stropp is coming down is just off one of the side side tracks to the left, around 3/4s of the way through the powerlines. The step up is on the 2nd to last hill, to the right hand side of the track.

That really doesn't look right ..... it doesn't even look steep - I can handle that sort of a rock face not hanging onto the steering wheel .....

Yer I think I know where that step up is now. Kinda looks like a rock quarry around there.

No way my truck would get up that step up.

Shaun,

I wouldn't do it in mine either .... not without sliders .....

Stropp dragged his for about 1 and a half feet along the LHS Slider, and his sliders didn't move a millimetre ...... wouldn't be the same with the factory side steps though ....
