When you want to go? Might be keen to go up again from Sydney - since I cut my holiday last weekend and we had an average run last time

What do you mean by that, you were the person that organised the trip.
I have not commented on the trip last weekend on purpose, that comment needs explaining.
The meeting point was confused.
I could have driven straight to the service centre instead of down the highway 20k's then back again on Saturday morning.
You needed to organise all maps of the area (Including escape routes if there was a fire)and if you didn't have an experienced leader, I know you were let down last minute, put out some feelers.
Our local club members would have happily helped out even as late as Friday night, you had my number.
I did enjoy the day out and met some nice people, yourself included.
It is not easy organising a trip, just doing it is a start, good on you. Mate don't be afraid to ask for a hand as there is always someone to step up.
Funny thing I bought the topographical maps for the area today as it is a good spot for a drive. ready for next time.

Statok,
Apologies for the Hijack.
There is an active 4x4 club in Taree, great blokes and ladies. You will see our great backyard on our monthly trips and we will teach you along the way. If you are interested PM me your phone and I will call.
A day trip in the Kiwarrick is not hard to put together, some of our blokes know it like their driveway!

Well we thought the person taking us will know the tracks - but I guess we expected too much - apparently the following day his nephew came out and showed them the whole track - cut my holidays cause of family member in hospital.

Don't get me wrong it's an excellent bunch of people - I'm only saying that I probably expected too much and because of last minute changes did not help us either.

However ill be keep coming back in the area since we have families up there.

I would really like to go up to Coffs and looking forward to meeting Paul one day, he's sounds like a great bloke.

We are going to Pebbly Beach the weekend before for a club trip, a camping, fish and Kayak weekend if the weather is kind.

The budget wont allow another trip to Coffs the following weekend unfortunately.

Another time.

I know its planned for 16 & 17 November. Tides aren't great 1.30 pm I think. Might park and go for a paddle then cross later in the day. Some are staying for longer, I gave them my copy of Kev's book. Great guide that.

That's a bit deep for salt water! Better put the salt killer stuff on it before I go and when I get home.

Put the bra in as well.

Over the weekend the boys were saying it is deeper than the last time I was there

G'day mate,

Not if your going to cross at low tide, pick your tide. Also carry a ground sheet to strap around the front of your vehicle to be on the safe side. A lot of folks plow in to fast and end up causing damage to there radiators/fans.

RLI

That's a lot of salt water getting into every nook and cranny,
even if you fish oil entire engine bay its gotta do some damage down the track.
I've done fresh water crossings that deep heaps of time but like my Patrol too much to put it through that.
Looks like great place though enjoy

Paul how long ago was your most recent visit of Pebbly? I went past the crossing earlier this year and the mouth is very wide now.

Cheers,
Eric.

Our trip leader spoke to the camp caretaker this week. A new shallow crossing has been opened. It's closer to the ocean on a rock ledge and at low tide is described like a rapid about tyre wall deep only. Sounds good.
