hi,

i recently bought a gu 2.8 TD and my old man mentioned something about checking what oil the previous owners used as some have higher detergent levels than others.
Your opinion would be much appreciated
thanks

Generally diesel oils are high detergent(keep the engine clean) I have always used Caltex oil and is good for the vehicle. Just remember to change the oil regularly and by a good oil. Cheaper oils tend to get thin when they are hot
