You could try Eucalyptus Oil, it removes lots of sticky residues that paint friendly solvents wont.

Citrus spray. Like eucalyptus oil but better. Not sure what the brand name is but it's fairly common and really good stuff

I use it quite a bit on many painted surfaces, especially sticker removal from vehicles. It wont hurt the paint. I just gotta think of the brand name

Detailer's clay bar works well but also removes any wax applied to the paint so it turns into a big job i.e. wash, clay, wash, polish & wax

Have you tried CT18 truck wash? That seems to do a pretty good job on the work trucks.
